Quality assurance in private construction - why?
Mads Stadsgaard's company mainly builds for private customers and even though quality assurance in the carpentry industry is not a legal requirement in private construction, they have still chosen to do it. There are several reasons for this: In addition to making the work easier for both carpenters and project managers, quality assurance creates a high degree of reassurance for customers. When a project is completed, the customer receives a quality report on the work that has been carried out.
”Our private customers are incredibly happy with it, as they have a document stating that what we have done on their project is in order. The document comes with the house, so when the house is to be sold, they have proof that what has been done is done properly.”
Quality report as a seal of quality
Already in the quote process, the customer is presented with an example of a quality report. For Mads Stadsgaard, communication and transparency with the customer are absolutely essential. Here, the quality report plays a major role. The report is an extra service that helps create a reassuring experience.
”One of the main reasons we chose Inspectly was that we have many private customers, and we wanted to provide an extra service in connection with our projects, so that we can hand over a finished quality report that looks professional and is easy for the customer to use.”
By implementing digital quality assurance as part of everyday life on the construction site, documentation is carried out continuously, resulting in all the groundwork having been done when the report is to be handed over to the customer. The report is built from the documentation that has already been made. It is generated as a PDF directly in the system. So with a single click, a detailed report can be created during or after the individual construction project, Mads explains.
When the construction site moves into the office
With digital quality assurance, Mads Stadsgaard experiences that the construction site moves right into the office. By having digitized their quality assurance, the company prevents several issues. These include inadequate communication, repeated errors, and unstructured documentation that circulates in emails, SMS messages, on crumpled notes in cars, pockets, etc.
The simple and user-friendly app has made it easy to implement quality assurance as a natural part of everyday life for the carpenters on the construction site. By carrying out quality assurance continuously, the carpenter avoids having to gather notes and images and report afterwards. It saves them a lot of hassle and time.
